The Gestalt Manifesto started to take shape in 2020 as Werner began investing more time in his new hardware synths. Once again, he reached out to Clark, and the two started their new venture as Rieux. The result is an album built layer upon layer, with sometimes barely perceptible elements contributing to the overall tone. Sometimes these pieces build toward dread. Other times they build toward optimism. The resulting sound is massive, yet detailed. A greater whole, the sum of its many parts.
The Gestalt Manifesto was made with Moog Subharmonicon, Moog Mother-32, Moog DFAM, Arturia Microfreak, Korg MicroKORG S, Arturia Buchla Easel V, Cherry Audio Dreamsynth, guitar, modular synths (Industrial Music Electronics Piston Honda, Mutable Instruments Plaits, Akemie’s Taiko, Music Thing Modular Turing Machine, Make Noise Maths, Noise Engineering BIA, Qu-Bit Bloom, among others), and other software synths.
